Time flies...

Howdy folks. It's been nearly 8 months since my last journal entry, so I guess it's time for a new one.

The big news is that I'm no longer drawing Working Daze for comics.com. I sat down and looked at the numbers and I decided that I was spending way too much time on that comic for not a lot of money. I wouldn't have minded if the comic had a chance of making it big (thus justifying the time and effort that went into it) but after four years of no change, I decided I'd had enough. Those of you who are nostalgic for the days when I still drew Working Daze might want to head over to Amazon.com and pick up Working Daze: Managers and Other Unnatural Disasers.

I guess the upside to all of this is that I've got more free time to do commissions - provided I'm not doing some other fun thing with my time. ;) Free time...what a concept!

(I wish I could change the mood on my journal. Anybody else having this problem?)

"I decided that I was spending way too much time on that comic for not a lot of money."I know that feeling. I think the only reason there are any comics is that there's a never-ending supply of 20 or 25 year old "kids" who haven't learned yet that they aren't going to be the next Tod McFarlane.

You're right, of course.

It's true for the video game business as well. Except that they yank these guys fresh out of college, fill them up with pizza and make them think that having any life outside of the studio is some sort of terrible crime.
