Dress for Success by Gamecreature Dress for Success by Gamecreature
This was inspired by a comic book cover I saw the other day. The first thing I thought was "how does she fit in that?" and the second was "that outfit pretty much screams 'sex object.'" But being the guy I am, I saw the humor in it and here is the result. Enjoy.

Ohmigawd, I love this oh so very much! This made my day, thank you!

In addition to that, your style is so appealing and your linework so clean; I'm jealous!

Thank you so much for your kind words.

My style has evolved over the years. Heck, I've gone back and looked at pieces I did a year ago and wondered what the heck I was thinking (I think I've successfully scrubbed most of those from my gallery). Just keep drawing and let it flow.

Brilliant work that really underscores the dichotomy of the genre.
As *Huggy-Lugnuts points out, "sex sells." How many people would buy a comic about a 300-pound lard-bucket in Spandex?
"Thunder Girl!" and her amazing power to make villains puke at the sight of her. (Police, colleagues and innocent bystanders, too.)
Still, it's wonderful how you've pointed out that an effort to do right and good can come out AOB wrong. :star::star::star::rofl:

Actually, I think it would be reasonable for a super-heroine to wear a sexy costume.

It has been my experience that women are more likely to wear sexy clothing (such as a bikini, tube top, or cut-off shorts) where they feel safe and comfortable (such as a well-behaved crowd at the beach or sporting event). They do NOT wear sexy clothing where they feel unsafe or uncomfortable (a boisterous crowd or being alone in a unfriendly neighborhood).

So, given that superheroes are much more powerful than the average human, a super woman would probably be comfortable displaying her sexuality, secure in the fact that she can easily protect herself.

Just a thought.

I guess it depends on whether or not they are normal flesh and blood or invulnerable. I mean, would you seriously consider entering a BMX contest wearing only a t-shirt and cut-offs?

I guess this would fall under the "safety" clause. I doubt anyone participating in a BMX event would feel safe with anything less than body armor... unless they're stupid.

But then again, I've seen guys roaring down the freeway on their motorbike wearing shorts, shirt, and sandals. I always think to myself, look out, Darwin's gonna get'cha... or at least give you a severe case of road rash.

This is great! Really well done. I'm glad to see you getting into the more sexy drawings. Did I start something with my Ice Cream Girl? I hope so.

Great job!

As you might be able to tell from my gallery, I draw whatever happens to strike my fancy at the time. Yes, I'm allowing myself a little more "leeway" with the sexy images, but I don't know if I'll ever post any nudes. I'm not saying I don't draw them, I just want to keep my DA gallery accessible to everyone.

I just have to applaud you and your artwork. I'm glad you are willing to show the more risque stuff, and I'd bet everyone else on DA is, too.

Thanks!

Okay, you're going to have to send me a note telling me what comic did you see this suit in?

No matter what, it makes me laugh! Good show!

Note sent with link. I will point out that the image I was inspired by does not show as much skin as this one. However, it doesn't leave much to the imagination, either. :D

It seems to work for DC Comics, at least. Not seeing much of a difference over here. Maybe I need to find some new markets.

That is a sexist outfit. We need a sensibly dressed woman to champion women's rights. Someone like "Burka Belle", covered head to toe in an unsightly shapeless garment, defending women's virtue in company with a male member of her household who tells her exactly what she can or cannot do. Such as mutilating other women so they can't enjoy sex or exhorting men of her family to kill their sisters if raped. Or blowing themselves up in a crowded market because their mullah told them too. Lord forbid they should ever wear anything sexy.

She (the heroine) is a beauty, indeed. Nicely done, sir.
This begs the question: what are your opinions on Wonder Woman's new outfit?

I don't mind that they saw fit to "revamp" her outfit. But why on earth did they feel she needed Black Canary's jacket?

The jacket choice is definitely questionable. The rest of the design doesn't really bother me too much. I'm still not fond of DC's plans of what they'll do with her; she just won't be Wonder Woman anymore, she'll just be an ordinary crime-fighter. Granted, ordinary people who fight crime can be special, but this is Wonder Woman. As much as I don't particularly care for this group, she's still a feminist icon, showing that women have just as much power as men.
